that is dangerous. Kenneth Arnold saw something he could not identify. Roswell produced debris that became the centre of a massive legend. The Contactees claimed communication with beings from other worlds. The Hills described an alleged abduction. Rendlesham became a military mystery. The Navy videos became global sensations. Whistleblowers brought new allegations to Congress. Each stage added another layer to the story. Yet the same fundamental problem remained. Where is the evidence? The answer to that question may ultimately determine where the UFO story goes next. Perhaps stronger evidence will eventually emerge. Perhaps one day a spacecraft will be confirmed. Perhaps humanity will detect an unmistakable signal from another civilisation. Or perhaps the mystery will continue for another hundred years, with most sightings eventually explained and a small number remaining unresolved. The history of UFOs has taught us that the unknown is remarkably persistent. But it has also taught us something else. Mystery does not need to be destroyed. It needs to be investigated. And the investigation must remain honest enough to accept whatever answer the evidence provides. Even if that answer is not the one we hoped for. text
